Our Process

Jarvis Restoration will guide you through the entire process, from initial dry-out to restoring your home entirely. We have specialists working in each area of home restoration and have experts trained in working with your insurance company to ensure that you are taken care of through this process.

PHASE I: DRY-OUT AND REMOVAL OF DAMAGED MATERIALS

  • We will send a specifically trained and IICRC-certified crew to come out for a free inspection. They will determine what is necessary to begin the mitigation process and help you through the first steps of the project. In homes built prior to 1985, this will include a required asbestos test to determine if there is asbestos present in the materials and what the next step will be.
    • If there is no asbestos, we will give you a quote for water mitigation and begin work as soon as you give approval.
    • If there is asbestos or mold present, we will give you a quote for those processes and will begin work as soon as we receive approval. All procedures will be determined by recommended IICRC policy and procedures.
  • We will help you determine whether to open an insurance claim or go out of pocket. We recommend that you do not open an insurance claim until you have spoken with your project manager as they will guide you through the process and ensure claim coverage when possible. We will work with your plumber to determine the cause of loss and work directly with your insurance company to submit all photos, measurements, estimates, and proper documentation.

PHASE II: REPAIR

  • Once all damaged materials have been removed and dried out, a Project Manager will come to your home and put together a plan for repair. They will create an estimate and work with you on choosing materials to restore your home.
  • With an insurance claim, the Project Manager will negotiate on your behalf to ensure that the insurance company is covering all necessary repair items and the correct material costs are applied, so you are getting the same quality of cabinets, flooring, countertops, etc. according to the investment that you have made in your home.
    • If you would like to use this opportunity to increase the value of your home with upgrades, our Project Manager will work with you to put together an upgrade budget for out-of-pocket costs.
      • You can check the Jarvis Restoration Instagram page at @jarvis_oc or our website to see some of the remodels that we have completed.
  • For Out of Pocket Repair projects, we will work with you and your budget and get an approval of everything before work will commence. You will always be informed about any additional out-of-pocket costs prior to any work being done.

PHASE III: CONTENT MANIPULATION AND STORAGE

  • If you have personal items that were damaged or need to be stored, our contents division will properly store the materials until the project is complete and then pack everything back into your home.
  • We offer a variety of services for content cleaning, storage, and manipulation. Our crews work together to ensure that once the home is complete, all personal items are returned in a timely and appropriate fashion.
